These wraps offer a delightful combination of textures and fresh flavors. Crispy turkey bacon provides a savory depth, complemented by the crispness of shredded lettuce and the juicy sweetness of diced tomatoes. A creamy, tangy sauce ties all the elements together, encased in a soft, pliable tortilla for a satisfying and portable meal. The turkey bacon is pan-fried until golden and crisp, ensuring a pleasant contrast to the fresh vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices turkey bacon
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded iceberg or romaine lettuce
  • 1 cup diced ripe tomatoes
  • For the Creamy Sauce:
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Turkey Bacon: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the turkey bacon slices and cook for 3-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crisp. Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess fat. Once cooled slightly, chop the turkey bacon into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Make the Creamy Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, fresh lemon juice, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  3. Assemble the Wraps: Lay each flour tortilla flat. Spread a generous amount of the creamy sauce down the center of each tortilla.
  4. Layer the Fillings: Evenly distribute the shredded lettuce over the sauce, followed by the diced tomatoes and the chopped crispy turkey bacon.
  5. Roll the Wraps: Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then tightly roll it up from the bottom, creating a secure wrap.
  6. Serve: Cut each wrap in half diagonally, if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crispness, you can bake the turkey bacon in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 10-15 minutes.

Ensure your tomatoes are ripe for the best flavor and texture.

Warm the tortillas slightly in a dry skillet or microwave for 10-15 seconds to make them more pliable and easier to roll.

Customize the sauce with a pinch of cayenne pepper for a subtle kick.
